So excited about this outing :D This group - Movie Popper, was set up to let us relive our past GV days; working together, watching movie together or just having fun :) But right now, we could only watch movie together... pretending that we are signing in. Heh, kidding!
And so, we met up today to watch Final Destination 5 @GV Vivo! Twenty minutes before the movie starts, we decided to go down to Giant to grab some chips and smuggle into the cinema. Later we pretty much jammed up the usher point queue because the staff have to check our identity cards. It's a M18 show - argh!! We are all legit, I tell you!
All ready!! :D
And it's Final Destination 5 time.
Death Doesn't Like To Be Cheated. Eight escaped death, eight ways to die. Gymnastic-ed, acupunctured, LASIK-ed, spannered, speared, crashed and crushed. Felt spoiler-ed? The deaths were very unpredictable and unexpected. I was anxious throughout the movie. It's like every small thing can leads to a bigger situation that will cause your death. A small nail on the floor, a harmless button. Like a butterfly effect? Anyway there is no way you can escape death; no matter what you do to avoid or prevent it. But it's awesome that in the end, the story linked back to Final Destination 1.
I have a theory that all these premonitions and deaths are caused by the Shinigami from Death Note! Since they are usually bored, like to be entertain and able to gain lifespan by killing people, yes! they are the cause of it! First they purposely give someone a premonition of what is going to happen. And then they start writing all those details of their deaths in sequence. That's why the police people said they are unable to replay the scene of the death again and accurately. Heh, joke.
Afterwards, we decided to have desserts! Have gotten a little full from all the potato chips and also the aftereffects of watching a gore movie. I think that the movie could be much gorier, but the rating would be r21 instead. Results: Poor underage people from Movie Popper won't be able to watch then :X After loitering around, we decided to have it @Earle Swensen's Restaurant and shared an apple crumble and a banana crumble!♥
Before being drenched with butterscotch cream sauce
and scattering the apple chunks and banana slices!
Ahha~
Both crumble on sizzling skillet with caramalized fresh apple chunks,
banana slices and ol' fashioned vanilla ice cream topped with butterscotch cream sauce ♥
Shared the bill!
All of a sudden, a very last minute decision of going to my house was made! (Edmund was the cause... as usual!) To play with my dusty Wii and also to be one of the firsts to see the baby bird! I'm so glad that everyone likes the baby bird :D You are so loved!♥
Movie Popper!
consist of ex-GV staffs~ :D
Fun shot.
With that, Puikwan left early while Edmund and ShunAn stayed for dinner. And because of the dinner, I was almost late for my other appointment with YongSi and Johnatton!! Play starts @8pm, I left house @7pm... but the stupid bus only arrived twenty minutes later (O.Q) Luckily, I managed to reach NLB in the time... phew~
Some information of the play: EQUUS; that I paid $41 for the ticket...
(student price!)
Inspired by real life events, EQUUS is a moving yet inextricably disturbing piece which tells of a young man who blinded six horses with a metal spike and how this incident influences the people around him as they struggle to come to terms with his horrific actions. The play eventually exposes the complexities of human nature and questions self-discovery through universal themes such as family, relationships, religion, beliefs and the difficulties of adolescence.
As per said, some parts of the play felt rather disturbing... the movement of the actors/actress, the words they used... I didn't really understand but they seems to have lots of meaning. I do admit that I did fall asleep for a wee bit... too much talking with literature terms! Especially for the psychiatrist person, Martin Dysart, when he's talking to himself, I don't really understand anything he said. Too difficult. I have not reached to that standard of understanding yet... but I managed to grasp the storyline behind this play though. It's really cool to watch the characters come to live from the script and to see the way they perform and how they bring out the strong emotions of each characters. And heh, there's even a two minute worth of
nudity -
naked male and
breast exposing female (her panties were still on!). There's even a ten minutes of Q&A at the end of the play; where the audience is able shoot questions to the actors/actresses/directors.
After EQUUS, YongSi went off first in a different direction from us (he is still so quiet! D:) and I accompanied Johnatton all the way to City Hall. He waited for my bus to come before going off! :)
It's great to see him after such a long time.
Parasaurolophus!♥
Something he bought for me from the Natural History Museum, UK.
TO ALL MUSLIMS AND CELEBRATERS OF THE DAY,
SELAMAT HARI RAYA!!!
